I’m Patrick McClair, the Founder and Director of Novomed, and I’m passionate about helping people take control of their health. My journey in healthcare began when I studied for a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree, which I graduated with distinction from the University of Strathclyde in 2020. I am also qualified as an Independent Prescriber.

My early career was shaped by hands-on work within an NHS acute hospital, where I completed my training and honed my skills as a clinical pharmacist. After gaining valuable experience in the hospital setting, I took the next step by transitioning into community pharmacy, where I serve as a pharmacy manager and prescribing pharmacist. This role allowed me to connect more directly with patients, providing not only expert care but also personalised advice and medication management tailored to their specific needs, along with diagnosing and treating many conditions which are traditionally managed by doctors and advanced nurse practitioners.

At Novomed, I bring together my extensive range of clinical experience and expertise to offer a wide range of health checks, diagnostic services, clinical assessments and a specialism in medicated weight management. My goal is to provide each patient with the knowledge and tools they need to make informed decisions about their health. I also diagnose and assess patients, prescribing medication when necessary to ensure they receive the most effective treatment.
